Pentax K-1 tough DSLR camera with 36MP Full-Frame CMOS Sensor

Pentax K-1 ready for launch in March 2016. Are there any surprises on this camera?

In addition to the launch of the Nikon D500 and Canon EOS 80D, March 2016 was also celebrated with the launch of the Pentax K-1. PENTAX K-1 is 35mm full-frame digital SLR camera. The K-1 is a 36.0MP DSLR camera with a Full frame (35.9 x 24 mm ) sized CMOS sensor. A newly engineered pentaprism with about 0.7X magnification and almost 100% field of view provides a bright, crisp view through the lens.

The K-1 offers 5-axis sensor-shift image stabilization, a 'nearly 100%' optical viewfinder and 33-point AF system with 25 cross-type points. The 3.2 inch 1.04M-dot LCD uses a new flexible tilting design which allows for diagonal, horizontal, and vertical movement while keeping the screen in alignment with the lens axis. Pentax K-1 also is great for adventure or outdoor because this full-frame camera protected by weather-resistant and dustproof magnesium.

The K-1 has no optical low-pass filter, but the Pentax dare to claim that the K-1 can reduce moire just as much as an OLPF by applying microscopic vibrations to the image sensor. 

Pentax claims that the K-1's sensor is capable of moving in all directions, supporting Ricoh's Pixel Shift Resolution system. Pentax K-1 also provides a dustproof and weather-resistant construction along with built-in Wi-Fi, 1080/30p video, 14-bit Raw capture, 4.4 fps burst shooting for up to 23 images in Raw or 70 in JPEG.

According to cameradecision.com, the Pentax K-1 has a score of 97 for Portrait Photography which makes it an EXCELLENT candidate for this type of photography. This camera also great for for Street Photography, Sports and fantastic for landscape photography. The cameradecision also reported that the K-1 is fine for daily photography. Ricoh has provided 10 full-frame lens, but it turns out that Pentax launched two new lenses along with the camera, the HD Pentax-D FA 15-30mm f.2.8 ultra-wide angle zoom and the HD Pentax-D FA 28-105mm f/3.5-5.6 compact zoom lens. 

According to  engadget.com, you can also use Pentax's medium-format 645 lenses with an adapter, or Pentax K-mount APS-C lenses if you don't mind the 1.6 times magnification. Reportedly will be available new lenses immediately. If you want to add a lens to the K-1, you can also choose alternative lens produced by a third party, such as Tamron or Sigma lenses.

Which makes the presence of Pentax K-1 is very interesting is that when you compare the K-1 with a full-frame camera the other, is that you can get this camera with a very friendly price, especially considering its US$1,799 price -- less than most other full-frame models from Sony, Canon, and Nikon. 

Engadget.com also reported, at that price will get you a weather-resistant, dustproof magnesium body with a 36.4-megapixel full-frame sensor, top sensitivity of a 204,800 ISO and 4.4 fps maximum shooting speed. Therefore, if you are a novice photographer and want to enjoy the power of a full-frame camera, it looks like the Pentax K-1 is the perfect choice.
